Week 4.

WEEK 4 Three more Competitors died this past week. Chitoge Kirisaki tried to take matters into her own hands only to be punished as a result while William Flemming and Archie both tried to take the Adjudicator up on his word and escape. Three more of you are gone, but there's no going back now. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Once again, another set of doors has opened up - this time at the end of the western corridor, leading up and toward the north. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it a reward for surviving another week. COMPETITORS REMAINING: 23

[ What a good shark. Big, but good. Katniss manages to smile, at least. ]

Yeah, and Mozu, too.

Oh, yeah. She makes some pretty good food.

I kinda can't believe he actually gave this to us, though.

Pretty generous of him, [ she says dryly, picking off a stray mint leaf to chew on. ]

Oh, so much. [Rolls his eyes...and tries to get a peak at what she's grabbing.] You get what I'm saying, though, right? There's like...a pool, and a greenhouse, and I think an archery place? This whole section's just...whoa. All at once.

[flagitate]

[ She holds out a handful for him. ]

Yeah. Maybe next time we'll get a way out. [ Haha. ] I guess it's all pretty cool. But it's nothing like actually being outside.

[meanttobe]

[What is this stuff. Aw, hey, it smells pretty good, mint--]

Oh, yeah, definitely. What I'm really wondering is- like-- why all this?

[flagitate]

[ She's gonna chew on another leaf. Delicious and fresh...! ]

I don't know. It's weird. He acts like-- the way he does, then he does stuff like this.

[meanttobe]

[IT TASTES GOOD oh man he's gonna be chewing on this all week.]

I don't get it. There's some times he actually...seems nice.

[flagitate]

I guess. But then he's mostly crazy. Who looks happy like that when he's ripping out someone's soul?

[meanttobe]

...Yeah, there's the other side to it... [He sighs.] Can't get a read on him in the trials, can't get a read on him talking one-on-one... It's just confusing.

[...]

Besides, we didn't really...do a great job or anything last week. [guess who's still feeling archie's death] But with a greenhouse and a pool and a shooting range it's like extra rewards.

[flagitate]

... Yeah. Archie was the one who did a pretty great job.

[ A+, Archie, you stab that fucker. ]

We should probably enjoy it, you know, as much as we can.

[meanttobe]

[If he was more of a cynical person, he'd probably add for as long as we can.

But that's not what Katniss needs right now, and he still has hope, so.]

...Wanna tell me about the wonderful things you can do with all this stuff?

[flagitate]

Yeah, sure.

[ You're a pal, Brady. ]

Hmm... Whatever's most useful.

[flagitate]

[ Let's start with the medicinal plants. Katniss takes him around, pointing out each plant as she talks about them.]

There's peppermint, which is good for settling your stomach. And it's good to just chew on. Lavender's used to fight skin infections. Thyme helps with sores and bites. [ ... We're ignoring the chamomile. ] Dandelion greens are good to eat, even if they're kind of bitter, but they can also be used to help your liver if you're having problems with that.

You can eat dandelions? And they help with stuff? Man, there is so much about plants I never knew.

[flagitate]

[ look she sometimes-- often doesn't have a lot of tact but she Knows. ]

Yeah. They're not toxic or anything. There are a lot of plants that if you eat just a mouthful you'd die, but I'm good at identifying those.

[meanttobe]

Ohhh, I should probably know about 'em too, then... Which ones are they?

[flagitate]

[ She'll take a moment to kind of survey what they've got before taking Brady around. ]

There's oleander. It looks pretty, but just tasting a bit of it can kill you fast. [ ... Stopping at a belladonna plant. ] We have this back home. We call it nightlock, and you'd be dead before it reaches your stomach. There's castor beans--I've never dealt with them before, but they can kill you really fast, too, if you eat enough of the stuff. Rhubarb leaves are bad, too. The stems are fine, but the leaves will kill you.

[Naturally, he tries to remember everything she tells him, but. Brady's not great at that, to begin with. So, some of it goes by the wayside.]

Oookay, that is a lot. Nightlock stuff sounds bad. [Makes special note of it.] But...if I'm just careful with what I eat, it should be fine, right?

[flagitate]

Yeah. It'll be easy to avoid the dangerous stuff, since there are signs around. Just don't get adventurous and try anything new unless I okay it.
