Week 4.

WEEK 4

Three more Competitors died this past week. Chitoge Kirisaki tried to take matters into her own hands only to be punished as a result while William Flemming and Archie both tried to take the Adjudicator up on his word and escape. Three more of you are gone, but there's no going back now.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

Once again, another set of doors has opened up - this time at the end of the western corridor, leading up and toward the north. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it a reward for surviving another week.

COMPETITORS REMAINING: 23

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

[OOC: Welcome to week four of Trustfell! Don't forget to save your threads for coins and the activity check, and don't forget to submit this week's activity check and memory regains!

If you'd like to get in contact with the Adjudicator, you can do so here!]

I'm sure you could teach alchemy just fine, Isaac. Even if it is a little more complicated than swimming.
glaciates: (THINKING ❅ that's a lie right)

I tried to teach William. It uh... didn't go very well.

I mean... it's probably hard to teach someone in a place where you can't really demonstrate, right? Like if I tried to teach you how to use the internet with a bunch of notebook paper and... I don't know, sock puppets.
glaciates: (HESITATE ❅ here comes the b&w)

[personal profile] glaciates 2016-07-26 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
...I'm not sure how sock puppets would help, but uh, that seems to be about right.

Alchemy's also... I'm not really sure how to put it. I'm self-taught, mostly, so I didn't have someone to really teach me in any sort of typical lessons. And I guess I've got some natural talent for it, so the things that I found easy don't come so quickly to everyone. I think I'd have just as much trouble teaching someone back in Amestris.

[Probably? Hell if he knows, he never tried.]

I could have them do little example chatroom conversations or something like that.

[She holds up her hands in traditional sock puppet pose. We will call one of the players in this drama iliekhotchix277 and the other xxx_GhOsTrEaVeR_xxx. They are poised and ready for what will surely be an exemplary meeting of the minds.]

asl?

[iliekhotchix277's three letters of address ring across the infinite void between them. Their voice is a little nasal, high-pitched.]

lol wtf

[A rebuttal. The first three letters pronounced as one word, the latter trio each intoned individually. This voice is gruff, low, and lies at the midpoint between confusion and insult.

Two simple phrases of the digital age, left hanging in the air of communication, and oh my god I put way too much effort into this Angel shrugs.]

It just doesn't work without the real thing, though. And definitely not said out loud. But hm... I mean, I guess you could probably give a better reading list than a lecture, huh?
glaciates: (SURPRISE ❅ that's not how alchemy works)

[this tag was so beautifully written it made me tear up, truly the work of a master]

...I have no idea what that was at all so uh, yeah?

Um... so online communication is text-based, so people abbreviate stuff. A/s/l is "age, sex, location," which is a kind of outdated way of starting conversations on dating sites, "lol" stands for "laughing out loud," and "wtf" is "what the fuck." Like Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, if your military does the phonetic alphabet thing.

[She shrugs.]

The internet is a big weird place and once you get home you luckily won't have to worry about it.
glaciates: (WHAT ❅ wait i'm only in one episode)

[personal profile] glaciates 2016-07-26 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
...Yeah, I'm actually really glad we don't have that? It sounds really confusing.

[YOU KNOW WHAT HE'S not going to think about this actually because this is it, this is the thing that does his brain in. the internet.]

[personal profile] didntgetdadslooks 2016-07-26 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
I'm literally connected to interplanetary internet all the time, it's not all it's cracked up to be. So don't worry about it, really.

[She smiles.]

Point is I think there are some things you just can't explain right without the proper resources and references.
glaciates: (CONSIDER ❅ that doesn't make sense)

[personal profile] glaciates 2016-07-26 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
I guess that's true. It would've been nice if I could've managed it. I was going to...

[teach Rideaux when we got out of here.]

...Well, it doesn't really matter anyway.

[wow isaac you really are a mess]

Yeah... well, we'll get out of here, and you can get back to it at least.
glaciates: (DISTANT ❅ his hair is always in his face)

[personal profile] glaciates 2016-07-26 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
[He's... working through Some Things.......]

I've missed it. I've got someone I need to get back to as well.
