Week 4.

WEEK 4

Three more Competitors died this past week. Chitoge Kirisaki tried to take matters into her own hands only to be punished as a result while William Flemming and Archie both tried to take the Adjudicator up on his word and escape. Three more of you are gone, but there's no going back now.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

Once again, another set of doors has opened up - this time at the end of the western corridor, leading up and toward the north. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it a reward for surviving another week.

COMPETITORS REMAINING: 23

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

[OOC: Welcome to week four of Trustfell! Don't forget to save your threads for coins and the activity check, and don't forget to submit this week's activity check and memory regains!

If you'd like to get in contact with the Adjudicator, you can do so here!]

Well, of course it is. [... and yeah, that's sort of an odd thing for a peacemonger to admit.]

But what's easy isn't always what's best, is it? Running and hiding can be just as easy, if not easier, and no one tries to say that's a good idea.
killedbyapig: (that did not nurse our bones)

[personal profile] killedbyapig 2016-07-29 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
True enough. Though, we've nowhere to run and hide in this place. I'm sure some here would consider it a good option.
oasisrose: (You've gotta let me go)

[personal profile] oasisrose 2016-07-29 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
Is it, though? You might save your own skin for a while, but you'd be powerless to stop someone else from winning.
killedbyapig: (not from this anger after)

[personal profile] killedbyapig 2016-07-29 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't do it, personally; I'm merely saying others might, if it were possible. Me, I outright refuse to allow someone who's done something this terrible to me to continue living.
oasisrose: (Wave goodbye)

[personal profile] oasisrose 2016-07-29 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
Well, we agree on one of those points, at least...

[Since she's pretty sure she knows how it'd go if she raised the "but why must we kill" argument, she pokes at another part of the idea.] We still don't know why he's done these things, though. Don't you want to hear his reasons out, first?
oasisrose: (My hands)

[personal profile] oasisrose 2016-07-30 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
You're not even curious?
killedbyapig: (my birthday began with the water)

[personal profile] killedbyapig 2016-07-30 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
Not even remotely. What do I care about the motives of monsters?
oasisrose: (Are cold)

[personal profile] oasisrose 2016-07-30 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
He might've been a man, once.
killedbyapig: (their frail deeds might have danced)

[personal profile] killedbyapig 2016-07-30 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
I care little for the motives of men as well. He could have the most noble and holy intentions there could be-- I'll still see his blood on my blade.

My house's words are simple and true: ours is the fury. If he'd wanted to live, he never should've crossed me.
oasisrose: (Are we)

[personal profile] oasisrose 2016-07-30 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
[Fury seems to be near and dear to a lot of the hearts here.]

That's... uh, quite the motto. But I can't imagine you make many friends with a stance like that one...?
killedbyapig: (seasons over the liquid world)

[personal profile] killedbyapig 2016-07-30 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
I've a great deal of friends, actually! [like, maybe two.] And very, very few enemies.
oasisrose: (You've gotta let me go)

[personal profile] oasisrose 2016-07-30 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
You mean few living enemies, I presume.
killedbyapig: (nor for the towering dead)

[personal profile] killedbyapig 2016-07-30 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
Thought that was the implication.
oasisrose: (They always did)

[personal profile] oasisrose 2016-07-30 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I wouldn't be so quick to discount the fallen. They can come back to haunt you, acting on through the hearts of the living...

[Karma, in other words. But she continues --]

And if they're angry enough, their spirit might even literally haunt you.
killedbyapig: (my girl riding far and near)

[personal profile] killedbyapig 2016-07-30 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
[he pauses, considers this...]

The spirits that haunt me aren't of enemies.
oasisrose: (I know)

[personal profile] oasisrose 2016-07-30 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
[She pauses too. Not considering anything, just -- taken a bit off her guard. Even for all her preaching about opening up to each other, it can still surprise her what you'll learn about people when you talk to them.]

Who, then? Someone you've lost...?
killedbyapig: (the wolf in the sheepwhite hood)

[personal profile] killedbyapig 2016-07-30 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
My love. We were promised to each other, in our youth.

I had enemies for a reason. She was that reason.
oasisrose: (Of surrender)

[personal profile] oasisrose 2016-07-30 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
... I'm sorry. I hadn't imagined... [She feels as though she should have, though. "All cruelty is born from pain," right?]

Would it be all right if I asked what happened to her?
killedbyapig: (and every stone I wind off like a reel)

[personal profile] killedbyapig 2016-07-30 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
What truly happened to her isn't a subject for polite conversation. [tbh if she were a man he'd be shouting it by now.] Suffice to say, she was kidnapped by a mad prince, and died before rescue. Moments before her brother reached her.

[or, well. that's what he thinks.]
oasisrose: (For the answer)

[personal profile] oasisrose 2016-07-30 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
[It's unusual, dealing with him. On one hand, he often seems a few shades worse than even the rowdiest of men she's had to entertain at the carnival. On the other, most of those men wouldn't care about how delicate the ears were around them when they spoke.

(Then again, that might be a difference in the classes. Her world doesn't even have kings, not anymore...)

Still, yes. Saying that alone more than suffices.]

I'm so sorry... [Meant in condolence, of course.] I couldn't imagine living with that kind of grief.
killedbyapig: (and death shall have no dominion)

[personal profile] killedbyapig 2016-07-30 07:14 am (UTC)(link)
It's been a long, long while. You learn to deal with what you've been given, don't you? Or you end up going mad. [shakes his head] This place is madness. I rarely spoke of her before, other than with Ned, the only other one who truly understood. I don't think my wife even said her name until a few weeks before. But... The thought that she'd be upset, if I were to kill innocents here, in her name. That keeps me on the straight and narrow.
