i'm a model, you know what i mean? and i do my little turn on the catwalk
[ There aren’t any reminders about the party at 3 today, mostly because the second anyone steps into the vicinity of where it’s being held at the appointed time—the dining room—they’ll see dozens of cut-out cats wearing masks and wonderful outfits.
Speaking of the dining room, something’s been pushed against one of the walls; it’s a fairly large and tall box, obviously split into two parts. “Obviously” because of the two different color cloths hanging off of it—it’s the makeshift changing room. And why a changing room? Because this is a fashion party and we’re not savages here, we are not changing in front of people.
The fashion in question is helpfully hanging on wooden racks by the side; it comes in a variety of styles, from stuff that’s obviously made with whatever Aligula and Ferid could get out of the vending machine (are you telling me you don’t want to wear a dress made out of a sarashi that has a petticoat of belts and buckles from a straitjacket, or a suit that comes with a Fat Chocobo mask and a dashing red scarf???) to more respectable looking stuff. And then there’s this stuff. And this! And… Look, if you let me link pictures of stuff we’ll be here all day. If you want it here and it’s reasonable, it can probably be found!!! Ferid has a lot of time on his hands and Aligula likes cute clothing. ...also they’ve all got some atrocious pattern on them somewhere, so have fun with that.
The catwalk is differed from every other table in there by virtue of being dressed up in ribbons and bows and things like that; it’s the one closest to the changing rooms too. Get up there and strut your stuff! Or… don’t, just wear some cute clothes and feel particularly stylish today.
The fashion show isn’t the only thing that’s going on though; there’s also the cat party that everyone should have fun with regardless of their feelings on cats, parties, or fashion. Everyone will be gifted with a cat accessory at the door by either Ferid or Aligula, depending on who’s waiting there at the time; it’ll be a set of cat ears and a tail, of pretty much any color or species that you want. For the more shy, there are wristbands that have cat faces on them too, as well as masquerade masks that are painted with cat features—the point here is, there are cats-themed things to wear.
And of course, the food: the build-your-own-parfait bar, along with some distinctly Not-Cilan dishes that look like they’d belong at some sort of high-end party or masquerade, and dessert cakes that are in the shape of cat faces. Thanks Ferid. As far as drinks go, there’s water, tea, coffee, and glasses of stuff that looks like it’s wine... it’s actually the non-alcoholic wine (aka glorified sour grape juice) that comes out of the vending machine.
Mingle, make merry, and and most importantly: if you’re gonna poison someone here, bring your own. The hosts have not provided that for you. ]

This has got to be some kind of bad joke.
[A catsquerade. Oh my god. And here Naoto had thought the weekly gatherings would have a certain amount of seriousness, but nope, looks like the hopes are gone. Give her a wristband, dear host, because she isn't going to take anything else.
But it isn't all bad. Naoto is wearing a very nice hat, made for her by Aligula. It has sequins and all, but it's comforting and dark blue and damn Naoto likes it.
Naoto has been sitting around, mostly near the catwalk, staring at it as if it had insulted her just a second ago. It brings to mind some memories she'd rather not to think about much. Anyone who approaches gets a grumpy glance]
Are you going to play along our hosts' wishes and get up there later?
[Her face clearly says 'the answer better be no', but it isn't like she'll fight to change the mind of anyone who does want to play model]

The one he'll end on, and the one he's staying in for the rest of the cat party, is a suit at least one person'll be familiar with, paired with rounded glasses, both of which he got from the vending machine and looking a little too good in, honestly. He'll be wandering about, making sure everyone's in good order!]

When he sees Ferid, though, his jaw drops. Literally. Not because Ferid is attractive (well okay, he is, but that's not the main reason), but rather because those clothes are familiar.
Very familiar.]

If you're so inclined to trip her, go ahead, but the last time someone crossed her he got drugged so you do you, buddy.
When she's not on the catwalk, she's... pretty much everywhere, actually. Sometimes she has bows, sometimes she has an outfit, sometimes she's marching towards you with one of the two and a Very Determined Look on her face, particularly if you're wallflower... and sometimes she's just relaxing with one of the cat desserts, watching the party with a satisfied little smirk on her face.
If anyone comes close while she's chilling, she'll give them a little wave with her fork. ]

I can't believe there'll be puns too.
[Goddamnit. Well, at least Naoto has the hat from the detective outfit Aligula had made, so yes, she has something nifty to wear despite having no intentions to get on the catwalk]

...well. you know what. Since her friend worked so hard on it back home, she'll bring her swanky-ass Oboro-tailored outfit to change into, with the requisite kitty hairpin as an extra little touch, because why not. It's thematic, after all.
...she's still a little self-conscious about actually going on the catwalk, mind, but hey. she's gonna fuckin' do it.
...and then hide in the back by the food table after putting some gray kitty ears on, because she knows Ferid is going to ask about those, at least, and by gum she is going to wear the gray kitty ears she essentially requested during the initial Cat Party discussion. Nonetheless, though... even if she's a little more confident about it than she used to be, she still feels like that was a little too daring.]

But she promised Aligula she would do the catwalk thing, so by god she has no idea what she's doing but Angel does the whole catwalk thing. Meow. Or Nya. Or... [space cat noise].
Then after that, she bounces around the party a little, talking to people here and there. It's a party, right? And the absurdity seems to have looped her situation right back around to her being happy and social.]

Eventually, however, she steps down to allow others their moment in the spotlight. For much of the rest of the night she can be found sitting near the parfait bar. She's enjoying a cup of tea with her almost-entirely-fruit parfait and... yes, a pair of cat ears and a tail attached. Somehow she makes them look elegant.
Later on in the evening, however, she can be found standing in the corner and playing with Sigilyph. Mostly, the game consists of tossing him fruit and him catching it out of the air. Every now and then he gets confused, however, and violently headbutts a grape into the air rather than eating it. ]

And then here's that]
Is that...a bird?

She's more here for the fashion than the felines, since that's well within her comfort zone. But she does play along with the theme with a cat hairpin from the vending machine. Surely that counts, doesn't it? Of course, she's put on everything else that's been handed to her, so you could hand her a pair of the cat ears and see what happens.
When she's mingling with the crowd she's dressed in a different gown, a longer and more comfortable dress. What's curious, though, is that she's carrying a very distinctive accessory item -- a large, feather-trimmed fan, the kind that looks like it's more for dancing shows, rather than keeping someone cool. It also looks like it matches her regular dress, but it looks like it goes well with her current outfit, too.
She's not building any giant parfait monstrosities tonight -- instead, she's helping herself to some of the wine. It's no match for some good ale, but sour grape juice isn't so bad, is it?]
