Week 8.
Despite the week of peace - or in some cases, because of it - it seems that the stream of deaths is going to continue unabated; if anything, there's been a sharp uptick this week. Yuri Lowell, Angel Hyperion, Naoto Shirogane, Aymeric de Borel, Isaac McDougal, and Ferid Bathory have all joined the deceased. In one week, you've dropped from over half your original number being alive, to almost two-thirds being dead. But surely things can only go up from here on out, right? Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Another set of doors has opened up, once again branching off of the eastern corridor and leading toward the south. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; you've definitely earned it this week. |

[OOC: Welcome to week eight of Trustfell! Don't forget to save your threads for coins and the activity check, and don't forget to submit this week's activity check and memory regains!

INVESTIGATION and also open
Jean's latest dream fills her with determination. If she had any lingering concerns about silly things like what's possible or what's impossible, those are gone now, replaced by three facts: She's punched a god in the face. She's considered one of five legendary heroes now. And there's people around to do it, because her planet is alive and well.
First order of business is breakfast, because even heroes need to stay healthy. After that, people might catch her sweeping the halls, checking the old rooms first as if she's trying to take note of something.
After that, though, she heads into the new corridor, and into the chapel and -- ... well. For a moment she stares at it, more in annoyance than disbelief.
Given the way Jean preaches about having faith, it'd be understandable if you thought she was a good little church mouse under her risqué dancer's dress. But with the history of her world, there's a part of her that still associates these places with extremists and their sinister intents. Like really, the only thing that would have made this more complete would be if Juri was sitting in there playing a haunting piece on a pipe organ.
Still. She starts searching the room.
After the information from last week about where the keys were found, she's been keeping an eye out for vessels of liquid, in particular, and this seems like the sort of place that could be hiding some holy water. (Which... man, they sure could use that right about now, considering how cursed this whole complex seems to be.) So she does a quick search of the room, more of a spot check than a targeted search, for anything that fits that description.
Does anything like that -- or anything that's out-of-place enough that it'd catch her attention anyway -- turn up before she reaches the locked door?]
halls
But this time he is taking a short break, so when he sees Jean he will give her an overly-cheerful greeting.]
Ah, good morning.
[...It's cheerful for him, at least.]
no subject
[Her tone is puzzled, but still polite and friendly.]
You've been as busy as a bee this morning, haven't you? Are you looking for something, too?
no subject
[More like he likes working hard to take his mind off of things he is avoiding.]
no subject
[And also, you know. The murders. Who cleans those up, anyway?]
no subject
no subject
... by the way. Do you remember those keys that were mentioned during last week's meeting? The one in the paint can, and the one in the bag of blood.
[Found by a victim and the culprit, respectively.]
While you've been cleaning up, have you seen anything else that matches that sort of description? You know... a small vessel with a fluid in it. I'm thinking that if there's two, there might be more.
no subject
the mun had specified thathe had been looking closely during his cleaning he might have, but for now, he just shakes his head.]I have not. I did not even think to look for more, beyond those two. Have you found locked doors?
no subject
No, but... well, if there's two, there's bound to be more, right? They could all be important.
[Unless they're duplicates of the same key, but this possibility hasn't occurred to Jean yet.]
no subject
Otherwise, the room seems pretty clear, going by spot check. You're good to look the door over, if you want!]
no subject
Anyway. Naturally, the door catches her attention, so she steps up to take a closer look. Does it look like the other doors, like the ones that were blocking off their progress? Assuming it has a handle, she's going to try opening it -- but it's already a foregone conclusion how well that works out, isn't it?]

She steps back for a moment to retrieve the key that Yuri found, and also to -- appropriately enough -- give a quick prayer for her success. And then she steps forward to see if the key fits and turns in the keyhole.]

This is actually sort of an emotional moment for Jean. These doors have taunted her so much since the very beginning, and she's tried more than once to break them down. Finally, she's opened a new path!
... however, she's not stupid enough to charge in there in celebration. Locked doors are sometimes locked for a reason. Instead, she opens the door slowly, just enough to let some light in from the chapel and look inside.]
no subject
The light will provide some illumination, though, at least in the vicinity of the doors; it looks like there's cabinets and stuff in here. Large, bulky pieces of furniture like that.]
no subject
Well, the chapel's right behind her. Do candles count as too religious to keep in here, too?]
no subject
no subject
If not, Jean brought a few things along for what she assumed was going to be a hunt for more keys. A lighter from the vending machine was one of them. Candles are not difficult puzzles.
So, she'll take one candle, and head into the dark room with it for a better look.]
no subject
This place does appear to be the land of imposing furniture; so many cabinets, a couple of chests here and there. Thankfully nothing on the floor in the immediate vicinity of the door, though.]
no subject
These are all things that need to be opened. And they do already have a second key. ... somewhere. Who has that other key, again?
Well, maybe that one was just a duplicate. The only way to find out if these are locked is to try opening them. Having explored many dungeons, her instincts naturally draw her towards one of the chests. She approaches and attempts to lift the lid.]
no subject
That said, it looks like it's being used to store clothing of some sort - or at the very least, like that's a lot of fabric in here.]
no subject
Let's lift up the topmost piece of fabric, and see what's actually in here. If it's clothes, it could tell us more about the owner.
And if it's not clothes, then... who knows?]
no subject
Doing that will reveal that it's definitely clothes; this one looks like a jacket that's...probably really familiar, actually, given that it came into question during the last trial - blue with white trim and piping, gold embellishments in the form of epaulets at the shoulders and gold braid on the right side...
Very much a uniform, very much Amestrian. Looks about Isaac's size, given that Isaac was pretty tall and reasonably jacked.
Huh.]
no subject
But why is it here? Her mind jumps to some conclusions, but maybe it's not what it looks like -- after all, didn't Isaac pull a spare uniform out of the vending machine? It's possible that she just found her way into the prize room.
She's going to start pulling more clothing out of the trunk, laying them out neatly on the floor.]
