Week 2.
With the deaths of Sayaka Maizono and Mallick Scott the first week draws to a close. While you all have varying opinions on what happened and who was to blame, one thing's for sure: the Adjudicator isn't messing around. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... However, those weird dreams aren't the only new thing around here; those massive double doors on the southern wall of the foyer have opened up, leading down another hallway and ending in what looks like another corridor to the west. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it your reward for a job well done. Or perhaps for just playing the game. |

[OOC: Welcome to week two of Trustfell! Don't forget to save your threads for coins and the activity check, and don't forget to submit this week's activity check and memory regains!
If you'd like to get in contact with the Adjudicator, you can do so here!]
infirmary
His first guess is right and he enters the infirmary.]
Hey, uh, I've got something I want to ask you, if you've got a moment.
[You aren't too busy with your notes there, are you?]
no subject
Go for it.
[He's really curious to know what this is about...]
no subject
[That sure is a specific question.]
no subject
I can't give you an exact number, but I can give you a ballpark one. Scars do change in color and shape over the years.
no subject
no subject
Sure, let's have a look at it.
[He's kind of wondering why Isaac needs this analyzed...shouldn't he know when and where a nasty scar came from? Hmm.]
no subject
It's a massive scar that takes up a good portion of the right half of his back, starting from mid-back and extending up over his shoulderblade. It stops before it can properly cross over his shoulder, but it's an absolutely massive scar.]
I don't remember getting this. I don't know what caused it. I asked the Adjudicator and he said he didn't do anything to me, so if he's to be believed then he didn't cause this either.
[The words are mostly to fill space, since he's sure Rideaux has already figured all of that out.]
It's already healed up, so it's probably older, right?
[He's definitely right about that - it's seven years old. It was also caused by uh. Someone having no restraint with the blood alchemy and ripping a goddamn hole in his back like a champion, but who knows if you can get that out of this nasty-looking thing!!]
no subject
Rideaux sets the clipboard down and gets up to examine the scar at a closer range. It's pretty nice that it is where it is- he doesn't have to crouch or anything. Thanks for being tall, Isaac.]
It definitely does look healed up, yes. It has also lost the color of a fresh scar, so I'd have to say it's at least a good couple of years old. Fresh scars stay a pinkish color for a while, but this is more faded.
Don't freak out now- I'm going to touch it.
[And he does it exactly that. He takes a glove off and runs his hand along the surface of the scar.]
It has also stretched out and flattened to match the surrounding skin. A newer scar would still be a bit raised and bumpy from the skin being bunched together during the healing process. This probably would have been a long healing process, since I don't think you've said anything about your world having healing alchemy.
[He slips the glove back on and waits for Isaac to turn back.]
All that said...yes, I'd have to say it's at least four or five years old. But that is simply an estimate. Once scars have aged enough, they don't change too much afterword.
no subject
He was right, and that really doesn't sit well with him.]
Okay. Yeah, I figured it was several years old, but it's good to know that really is the case.
[He pulls his shirt and jacket back on before turning to face Rideaux. Isaac's expression is as stoic as ever though he sounds agitated.]
Thanks. I really did need this confirmed.
no subject
[But at the same time he's definitely trying to think of how Isaac can repay him for a quick examination. He'll just file the thought away for now though.]
So you really have no idea where that came from? Must've been a nasty shock in the mirror when you first noticed it.
no subject
I have no idea. I've been lucky not to get injured too badly so far, but yeah, this was definitely unpleasant to find.
[And it was part of the reason why he was so convinced the Adjudicator was at fault for it. But... well, now he's not so sure.]
I guess there's really no avoiding it - I am missing time somehow. If the profile's right, I've misplayed seven years somehow.
[He has no idea what to do with that knowledge but boy does he look Done.]
no subject
Also he can't really blame Isaac for looking Done about something like that. It's pretty alarming for Rideaux to hear and he's not even the one with misplaced time.
He glances over to his clipboard and considers adding this to the notes...]
You wouldn't be the first. One of my patients here has reported something similar to me...unaccounted for injuries and all.
[...apparently he has patients here! But he's not specifying for a reason.]
no subject
Yeah, who is...
[....]
Patient privacy, right, got it.
[AT LEAST HE REMEMBERED AND DIDN'T ASK]
It's kind of good to know I'm not the only one, though.
no subject
He gives a nod of confirmation to Isaac's realization.]
Exactly. This conversation will remain private too, of course. But yes, I can say with certainty that you aren't. And while the scar and missing time are concerning, it could have been worse. You could have woken up here with that injury still fresh.
[Is...that an implication? He's obviously getting the example from somewhere. Heck, maybe Isaac already can get an idea from the trial.]
no subject
...Yeah, it really could've been worse.
[He's got an Idea all right, but he won't press any.]
Walter suggested that we were put into a coma for awhile to explain the missing time, but that would've been seven years for me. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to move around alright after something like that.
[No signs of atrophy here! If anything he seems like, alarmingly fit for someone who's missing seven years.]
no subject
Hmm. I'm not so sure about that either. Physical inconsistencies aside, why put some people in a coma for literal years when others seem to be missing no time at all?
[Katniss had fresh burns but was missing two years of time as well...how does that make any sense if she was in a coma?]
There could be some sort of amnesia involved, though it's a bit peculiar that it's only affecting some of us. Possibly a side effect of whatever they used to abduct us?
no subject
[The idea of missing seven years' worth of memories is sort of terrifying and not something Isaac wants to really think too much about!!]
no subject
It could be a drug of some sort... [He's not familiar with any in Elympios that would cause it, but.] It's worth bringing up to William at the very least. He told me he's worked in pharmaceuticals.
no subject
[Though really, it could be anything at this point.]
no subject
[The "if someone decides to do the murder thing" is implied, of course.]
