Week 2.

WEEK 2 With the deaths of Sayaka Maizono and Mallick Scott the first week draws to a close. While you all have varying opinions on what happened and who was to blame, one thing's for sure: the Adjudicator isn't messing around. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... However, those weird dreams aren't the only new thing around here; those massive double doors on the southern wall of the foyer have opened up, leading down another hallway and ending in what looks like another corridor to the west. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it your reward for a job well done. Or perhaps for just playing the game. COMPETITORS REMAINING: 28

[ She'll get up and cross over to the door, then open it for Fern. ]

[She makes it like ten feet before she rests her head on a hallways wall.

It doesn't make sense. It literally doesn't make any sense.]

[ ... Katniss is again reminded of just how bad she is with this whole comfort thing. She wants to reach out and touch Fern's shoulder, maybe, but Katniss knows she has her own boundaries. And she doesn't want to intrude on anyone else's... ]

... Fern?

[greenmamabear]

S-Sorry. I'm just.

Christ alive, this fucking place keeps throwing us for a loop. [She feels bad about this. Like, a lot. Sure, Katniss is wise beyond her years and super responsible but. She's still a kid who shouldn't have to deal with adult emotions.]

You don't have to apologize.

[ Katniss takes a breath, picking at no particular place on the wall. ]

You think one thing, and then something happens, and-- [ and it all changes. So, so quickly. ]

Always gotta adapt. No time to relax. [So much drama all the time. Here and home.]

Kind of makes you want to punch something. [ Someone. ]

At least that's something I'm good at.

[ ... Oh. She's stumbled upon the heavy stuff again. ]

Apparently I'm good at doing stuff that's dangerous for my health.

Hey, we have something else in common.

I wrapped an arrow in this wire. Really strong stuff. Really conductive. It was connected to this huge... tree. And when lightning struck it, I shot the arrow at the force field.

I think I destroyed it. The-- force field, I mean.

[greenmamabear]

[...Yiiiikes.]

What, uh, was it fielding around?

[flagitate]

... An arena.

[ Murder arena. ]

[greenmamabear]

That can't be a good sign.

[Like dang girl.]

...I think I killed someone.

[flagitate]

[ .... Oh. ]

Do you want to. [ Ahem. ] Talk about it? I won't tell anyone else.

Y-yeah. I know. [Katniss is like. The most trustworthy.]

I don't know, I didn't think she was a person? I mean, she wasn't but. She was still talking to me.

[greenmamabear]

I think I... Or maybe she just thinks I...

[She drags a hand down her face.] Maybe I'm just losing my mind. It doesn't make any sense.

[This might be hyping it up too much but its pretty fucking weird.]

[flagitate]

[ ... She hesitates, before putting a hand on her shoulder. ]

If you're losing your mind, so am I.

[greenmamabear]

[Katniss is very good people. Like what a considerate person. Fern wishes she was better with words so she could say it in a way that wouldn't make her uncomfortable.]

Alright. I-In that case, I'll just, uh. Say it. I guess.

[flagitate]

Yeah.

[ ... ]

have killed a giant talking kidney stone and her kidney stone children.

[So yeah.]

[ Okay. That's kind of... but Fern's really upset, so Katniss isn't going to make a snide remark for once in her life. ]

I didn't know kidney stones could talk.
