Week 4.

WEEK 4

Three more Competitors died this past week. Chitoge Kirisaki tried to take matters into her own hands only to be punished as a result while William Flemming and Archie both tried to take the Adjudicator up on his word and escape. Three more of you are gone, but there's no going back now.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

Once again, another set of doors has opened up - this time at the end of the western corridor, leading up and toward the north. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it a reward for surviving another week.

COMPETITORS REMAINING: 23

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

[OOC: Welcome to week four of Trustfell! Don't forget to save your threads for coins and the activity check, and don't forget to submit this week's activity check and memory regains!

If you'd like to get in contact with the Adjudicator, you can do so here!]

[ The sudden sound of Ferid's voice has Mahiru jerking to a stop, her eyes narrowing. A moment later, she closes them with a sigh. ]

Don't be so coy, Ferid. I'm sure you know exactly why.

[ The usual calm, almost airy quality to her voice is gone, leaving her with a tone that's flat and almost annoyed. ]

[That's the same sort of voice he heard in his dream, certainly, and his amusement last a split second before he sighs himself, shaking his head lightly.]

Mahiru, I'm not as all-knowing as you think I am! You're going to have to give me a little more than that if I hope to know the troubles of a dear friend.
middaymoon: (ᴛʜᴀᴛ makes them sound sincere)

[ Mahiru's gaze flickers when Ferid claims ignorance, eyes going dark before something like mania enters them - but then she closes her eyes and breathes out, and when she opens them she looks mostly normal again. ]

Was it Flemming that chose to act on the Adjudicator's incentive, or Archie?

Both. However, Flemming picked a fight with the wrong man and ended up dead for it.

[Archie had his own regrets, aired out at the trial itself, and he's almost mocking when he asks:]

Don't you remember, Mahiru? You were quite on Archie's tail the last part of that trial, pushing until he snapped.

[ An attempted murder that turns on the one making the attempt. Just like Sayaka. The rest of Ferid's words get a long silence and flat stare from Mahiru for a brief moment. Then she smiles. ]

You take such delight in making yourself difficult I find it strange that no one's killed you yet, Ferid.

Oh, you're too kind~! It would seem I'm too difficult to even bother targeting, or I'm as beloved as I've always been by others.

[Or he's never at the right place at the wrong time or however it might go.]

You don't remember a thing after you started to get over-excited, do you.

[... It definitely isn't stated as a question, as much as it sounds like one.]
middaymoon: (ᴛɪɢʜᴛʟʏ hold your hand)

You're giving me far too much credit, Ferid.

[ Her voice is bright and cheery and very brittle. ]

I don't remember anything at all from before the investigation.

[Awwwwwww. Aw!!! That's so sad, and he gives her a pitying smile. His eyes, however. Well.]

I wonder if you'll start to lose track of the days themselves. You already worry some of the others with your... energy, when you're like that, but I'm certain I can spin it well in your favor if you truly need it.

[Let her keep being somewhat indebted to him. Guren's portrait was a fine one, but this would be fun too.]

[ Mahiru actually considers that offer. On one hand, having a cover story would be helpful. On the other hand, she already owes Ferid more than she would like and owing him any more than that seems dangerous. In the end... ]

No. That won't be necessary.

[ In large part because even with her spotty memories she knows very well what she's like in that state. She's likely to contradict Ferid just to laugh at the shock in the others' expressions. ]

If you're taking requests, however, there is something you can do for me.

[personal profile] seventhprogenitor 2016-07-28 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
And what would that be, my dearest friend?
middaymoon: (ɴᴏᴡ let it linger)

[personal profile] middaymoon 2016-07-28 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
In the long term, hiding my 'spells' will be impossible in such close quarters. I'd still prefer to be kept abreast of events that transpire during them, however.

[ She's relying far, far too much on Ferid, she knows. She doesn't consider him trustworthy, but she does consider him somewhat familiar. It's the best she'll get. ]

Can I rely on you for such a task?
seventhprogenitor: (73)

[personal profile] seventhprogenitor 2016-07-28 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
[Ferid seems to consider this far long than he actually does; the answer is an unmistakable yes, of course, whether he tells her the full truth of those times or simply what he wants her to know, but he'll give it pause.]

It would be my pleasure, Mahiru, to aid you in whatever way I possibly can~. After all, you've been keeping my secret, so why shouldn't I help you with yours?
middaymoon: (ᴛʜᴀᴛ your thoughts aren't quite clear)

[personal profile] middaymoon 2016-07-28 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
That I have.

[ A pause, and then: ]

Claiming to be uneasy around blood is quite clever, by the way. I hope you won't use the ruse against us later.

[personal profile] seventhprogenitor 2016-07-28 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
Who can say? After all, I want to save my own skin just as much as anyone else here -- especially while things are going so well at home~.

[It isn't a ruse he can keep up for forever, but it has its uses now. He just needs to make good on it should anyone test the validity of it.]
middaymoon: (ᴛɪɢʜᴛʟʏ hold your hand)

[personal profile] middaymoon 2016-07-29 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
Just don't end up in a situation where you need to blow your cover to make yourself seem less suspect. That would reflect poorly on both of us.
