Week 5.
With the deaths of AZ, Brady Russell, McKenzie Mitchell, and Walter White, it's probably starting to feel less crowded around here, isn't it? But there isn't going to be a break from your situation - a new day in here should remind you of that. Two people were murdered in an attempt to escape and one had Juri's help to take his own life. How many more will die this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Checking the rules when you wake up will reveal that there's been a rule change; another reminder of things you've lost, and things you may have yet to lose. Of course, with the start of a new week, another set of doors has opened up - once again, they can be found in the western corridor, jutting downwards toward the south. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; after the weekend's trial, you probably deserve it. |
SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week five of Trustfell! Don't forget to save your threads for coins and the activity check, and don't forget to submit this week's activity check and memory regains!
If you'd like to get in contact with the Adjudicator, you can do so here!]

Yeah it is.
[ He furrows his brows. Of course it was a situation like that-- it seemed every higher chain of command driving a military force was always corrupt or controlled by a corrupt source. ]
Even if it has been awhile though, can't say something like that is something easy to get over. That's why you left the military, right?
[ He remembers Isaac saying he had been part of the military "for a short time". ]

[Isaac shakes his head.]
I don't know everything yet. I can't get a good idea of what was going on without all my memories.

[ He knows he would've flipped the hell out if something that bad happened when he was in the military. Granted, he did leave his for a reason... ]
I'm not surprised you'd be pissed at the guy, though. I'm going to just assume the leader is probably a figurehead too and approved the invasion just because?
[ Or was gunning for it himself-- if Isaac remembers anything more about that anyway (since memories being funky are a Thing and he doesn't remember why exactly he left the military yet). Either way, the guy sounds like an ass to him. ]

[It's the sort of thing he'd probably question, but he's absolutely certain about what he's saying despite the hesitation.]
And all of that in Ishval... it happened for a reason, I'm sure of that too.
[That one he's a little clearer on, he thinks.]

[ So sounds like they could bond over shitty leaders besides having shitty militaries. This is a-okay with him. ]
Know the reason, or is that in the memory murky area and we can probably guess it's connected to why you left the military?
[ He can think of a few reasons. Like if someone was a little hungry for land or just jelly the land was prospering better than theirs. Other than that, he would have no idea. ]

I'm gonna hope all the people in charge and responsible for this getting the go ahead someday get a swift kick where it really hurts. And then some.

[It's sudden, but very certain.]
Bradley doesn't answer to anyone and the rest... I don't know. I don't think any of them will ever pay for what they've done. Most of them weren't on the battlefield, they didn't see what we did and they weren't the ones carrying out those orders.
They won't ever have to pay for their crimes and all those innocent deaths will mean nothing to the Amestrian military, because they got what they wanted out of it. They won.
[The usual hesitation is completely gone as he speaks and there's something much, much colder in his voice than there usually is. He's shaking a bit by the time he's finished and he abruptly turns away.]
...It doesn't matter anyway. There's nothing that can be done about it.

...
[ Yuri's arrested by the cold facts.
His hands clenched into tight fists. It disgusts him. Something about this feels familiar and the deja vu doesn't leave him easy.
One of his hands unclench, rise a bit as his gaze remains focused on Isaac's person and then -- no, his hand drops to the side. He'll try to settle for just words for now. ]
I dunno and I might be overstepping my bounds a little, but. I feel like... there's something that can always be done. People like that -- they won't be able to get with that crap forever. Someone or something will always be out there ready to bring 'em down, even if it seems impossible.
That goes for the corrupt bastards back at our places, the Adjudicator, and his boss too. When we break out of here, this'll probably sound more convincing, but I know something can be done about all of them. There has to be. And it'll have to be done by our own hands, rather than waiting for someone else to take action.

[He straightens his shoulders and when he turns back to Yuri, he's kind of smiling. It's not the awkward smile but something that's a bit colder, more confident.]
Thanks, Yuri. I think I needed to hear something like that.
no subject
He'll smile slightly, but it doesn't really reach his eyes. ]
Exactly and it's no problem. Gotta help a guy out, right?
no subject
[He seems a lot more certain of himself, at the very least. Will this last?? Who knows!!]
