Week 5.
With the deaths of AZ, Brady Russell, McKenzie Mitchell, and Walter White, it's probably starting to feel less crowded around here, isn't it? But there isn't going to be a break from your situation - a new day in here should remind you of that. Two people were murdered in an attempt to escape and one had Juri's help to take his own life. How many more will die this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Checking the rules when you wake up will reveal that there's been a rule change; another reminder of things you've lost, and things you may have yet to lose. Of course, with the start of a new week, another set of doors has opened up - once again, they can be found in the western corridor, jutting downwards toward the south. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; after the weekend's trial, you probably deserve it. |
SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

[ Yuri sure as hell doesn't like these people taking advantage of them, but hey, he's sure Jean feels the same way. ]
Hopefully someone takes these guys out when this whole thing is over, or hell, even before.

She really shouldn't be thinking about that. For a number of reasons. So she focuses on the other part.]
... it's funny you say that, actually. She left a final message for us, and from what she said... that's more or less why she gave up immortality. Because we were too dependent on her. That we weren't solving our own problems, and we were worse off for it.
[But she's not speaking as reverently about it as she normally would. Of course, it's blasphemy to question it, but... she feels like she's missing something. She's not yet sure why she supported it so adamantly in her dream.]

[ Yuri knows his place has so many troubles that he's pretty glad that there's no issues concerning a goddess or god on top of that. There's enough corruptness going around with the class inequality and all. Church stuff might have just made everything implode until there was nothing left. ]
No offense or anything, though. Since it's not like it's really entirely everyone's fault--mostly just the people who're pretty much assholes in my opinion.

Oh, believe me -- none taken. Our troupe never saw eye to eye with the Chosen, even before we discovered their lies. Not to brag, but we were pretty high on their list of filthy heathens and deviants.
We used to plan our routes specifically to avoid them. Getting arrested too often will attract the wrong kinds of audience to your shows.

They must have been pissing their pants in anger every time you guys managed to be a pain in the ass. Gotta say there's nothing like beating the crap out of and eluding corrupt authority figures.
[ Jean keeps on earning those points. He knows what it's like being an outlaw. ]
So, did you have more than one thing you usually did in the shows or what?

[Her grin is already betraying her true feelings. So she goes ahead and adds,] Now, my friends on the other hand? They have a fantastic story about how they locked the captain of the guard in the brig of his own ship.
[AHEM. Back to his question.]
Well, nowadays I'm set in my role as the star dancer, but... I actually didn't know the first thing about dancing when I first joined the caravan. So early on, I did try a few other things, like acrobatics and juggling. They even talked me into filling in for one of the clowns, once...

[ There's a little laugh. Jean has some unexpected fun storytimes she needs to share with the rest of the crowd someday. ]
Really? So someone from the caravan taught you how to dance?
no subject
[Naturally, though, at some point she made it own. Old men weren't the kind of dancers who would leap and twirl around on the stage.]
I was sort of surprised by it, actually. When they first found me, I had been hurt pretty badly, and my legs were... well... shattered. While they were healing, I tripped over my own feet quite a bit...
And yet he insisted on showing me how. Looking back, I'm sure he wanted to cheer me up about it.
no subject
[ He rubs the back of his head, wondering how he'd deal with being in a situation like that. Probably figure that it might be not worth seeking out help and deal with it on his own? ]
... And hey, if you don't mind me asking, how'd you manage to get hurt that badly? I mean you don't have to answer, I guess I got a little bit curious.
no subject
No, I don't mind talking about it, even if it's not my favorite thing to reminisce about.
I was thrown off the edge of a cliff. Honestly, I'm lucky that most of the damage was to my legs, or I might not have survived long enough to be found.
no subject
[ Well, damn. ]
Gonna just say I'm glad you were that lucky too, and hope the bastard who did that to you is lying somewhere in a ditch for what they did.

[And just in case it needed clarification:
Yes, this is the same woman who loudly objected to the idea of executing anyone in the first trial, no matter what the circumstances were.]
But it comes down to whether or not karma caught up with him, eventually.
