Week 5.
With the deaths of AZ, Brady Russell, McKenzie Mitchell, and Walter White, it's probably starting to feel less crowded around here, isn't it? But there isn't going to be a break from your situation - a new day in here should remind you of that. Two people were murdered in an attempt to escape and one had Juri's help to take his own life. How many more will die this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Checking the rules when you wake up will reveal that there's been a rule change; another reminder of things you've lost, and things you may have yet to lose. Of course, with the start of a new week, another set of doors has opened up - once again, they can be found in the western corridor, jutting downwards toward the south. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; after the weekend's trial, you probably deserve it. |
SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

You never know what might be useful in a place like this.
[ She offers one of the knives to Yuri, hilt first. ]
If you're curious I could teach you.
no subject
[ He'll pass her a slight smile and he'll take it. He knows how sword play works, but learning how to throw knives with accurate precision was a different matter entirely. ]
... Sure, why not? I'm willing to learn new things. Although, it'll probably take me awhile to get as skilled as you are.
no subject
[ Mahiru will start walking Yuri through the whole process - how to stand, how to hold the knife, how to step, how to release... She's actually a pretty good teacher, and once she thinks Yuri's got the basics she takes a step back. ]
Now throw!
no subject
Realistically speaking, this is his first time throwing a knife, so the knife doesn't like hit dead center of the target on his first throw. Probably somewhere on the top of the target, not too close to the center, but not too far either. ]
... Well, not sure what I was expecting on first try. But it's not too bad, is it?
no subject
[ She was also seven, but details. ]
Try again with a bit less force. Knives don't offer as much resistance as a ball, so it's not uncommon to aim too high.
no subject
Alright, let's try it that way.
[ He'll be hurrying over to take it out of the target, and step back to where he was, preparing to throw it. It'd be a pretty perfect throw... if it weren't for the fact that through a string of seemingly bad luck, the timing was probably a little off.
The knife hits almost the exact same spot as last time but a little lower. ]
... Okay, that probably could have been done better. Might be because of the whole used to handling stuff with more force going on here. But third time's the charm, right?
no subject
... Your aim is honestly impressive.
[ She's not even being sarcastic. ]
Force is probably the reason, though. Throwing knives require less force than most people realize. It's technique that counts.
no subject
[ He does! Despite how laid-back he is. He'd prefer to really take it easy but here... it's hard for him to. ]
Yeah, probably. How long have you been at it with the technique?
[ Figures he'd ask while he'll be going to pull the knife again. ]
no subject
[ That's normal, right? ]
They were never my specialty, but I haven't found a longer blade to defend myself with yet.
no subject
[ Not normal for him, but Yuri lives in a world with purebred assassins so it's not like it is... unfathomable he supposes. Still, there is a wide shock factor.
He'll be stepping back into position now. ]
But yeah, usually I use swords myself. Haven't really practiced with small knives or anything. Even when I was younger.
no subject
[ Obviously it hadn't worked that way. ]
I eventually discovered katana, however, and ended up developing quite the aptitude for them.
no subject
[ He knows some women who kick ass with big weapons, so.
Yuri will throw the knife, adjusting the force. It's... still not perfect and he needs practice but it hits a little lower. ]
... Katanas are pretty badass too. Too bad we don't have any of our blades. It'd be nice to have some kinda sword play going on in a spar, maybe.

[ His first attempt at doing crafts was... earlier in the week. ]
...You ever have any experience in crafting stuff?
no subject
[ So cheery... ]
I'd have to see if there were any sort of instruction manual.
no subject
That could help. If not, we could try starting from scratch and probably see how that goes. If you work hard at something, you'll eventually find yourself able to master it or something, right?
no subject
no subject
[ He... DOES have some bad habits, admittedly. He likes to sleep in late and take his time getting to places. ]
When that happens though, it's probably a good thing to try to grow out of them. I'm sure you've never let that stopped you anyway.
no subject
I try to avoid developing bad habits in the first place. Every moment I spend trying to overcome them is a moment spent not improving my existing talents.
no subject
You sound like a pretty hard worker. That and usually it's not something I worry about too hard myself. As long as it's not endangering anyone else or something too big. I can see why someone else might, though.

no subject
He'll laugh a bit. ]
Guess it applies to here too. We're going to want to work hard to find out what's going on beyond the scenes too.
no subject
[ Mahiru is all about cynicism, apparently. ]
no subject
[ But, maybe this doesn't need to be all about cynicism-- even if Yuri's realistic himself and knows everything isn't all sunshine and rainbows. He'll go over to the target again, but after he takes out the knife, he passes Mahiru a smile. ]
Then...here's to us surviving, Mahiru.
no subject
To survival. We should never hesitate to celebrate our own well-being.
