Week 4.

WEEK 4 Three more Competitors died this past week. Chitoge Kirisaki tried to take matters into her own hands only to be punished as a result while William Flemming and Archie both tried to take the Adjudicator up on his word and escape. Three more of you are gone, but there's no going back now. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Once again, another set of doors has opened up - this time at the end of the western corridor, leading up and toward the north. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it a reward for surviving another week. COMPETITORS REMAINING: 23

[Well that sure was a thing that happened this morning.

As such, Cilan ends up going to his room and staying there for the rest of the morning. No fancy Cilan-made breakfast forthcoming today, sorry everyone.

However, he will eventually come out for a little while so that he can put up a flyer next to the vending machine with information about the Pokemon here, including not just the ones that have already been recovered but his missing Pansage, Archie's Mightyena, Muk, and Crobat, and even a little bit of information regarding what he knows about a Pokemon called "Floette" just in case. While he's here, he decides to put in a few of his own coins and try his luck... which will result in anyone nearby possibly hearing a sudden cacophony of noise because one thing has gone right today, and it's that we can cross Pansage off that list of missing Pokemon we just put up.

Because of this, Cilan can also later be found today in the kitchen making a lot of food, enough for the Pokemon and whoever happens to come by. Pansage is clinging to the back of his head while he's preparing it though because if you think that we're going to allow ourselves to be separated from Cilan again anytime soon, you would be wrong.]

[Naoto had her own work to do. If anyone stepped into the dining room they'd find the dozens of handwritten pages she has done of theories and other stuff related to their actual situation, but everyone needs a break once in a while. The kitchen is the nearest place.

She enters, looks into the fridge and glances towards the counter before she notices there's something off about Cilan's green head. Huuuuuuuh...]

I see someone managed to find your Pansage.

[cilantro]

Mm. I was able to recover my vintage Pokemon from the vending machine earlier today after...

[He trails off a little there, before he shakes his head.]

Well, regardless, I think I can happily say that all of my Pokemon are accounted for now, at least for the time being.

[Unless he suddenly remembers one next week and ends up feeling guilty about that but FOR NOW...]

How can you afford taking care of three different Pokemon at once? I'd guess even a single one would be difficult to take care of.

Well, I am a Pokemon Connoisseur and a Gym Leader: taking care of three Pokemon at once might honestly be considered a rather plain and simple flavor for someone of my caliber, depending on who you ask back home in Unova.

[He would also make enough food to feed and care for Ash and Iris's Pokemon too, if his dreams recently are to be trusted...]

Still, while it may cost a fair bit in order to buy enough necessities to support three Pokemon, myself, and my brothers and their Pokemon, thankfully I work enough in order to have the funds needed. And then from there, it's just a matter of knowing how to cater to each Pokemon and their individual needs.

[You're making it sound like there are like twenty different mouths to feed, Cilan. Naoto almost can't believe working in a restaurant would give enough for that, but who knows...]

Gym leader? You train other people's Pokemon to increase their strength?

[A gentle rumbling sounds Brady and Sharpedo's approach. It seems Sharpedo's surprised to see another Pokémon, but there's something else to it.]

Uh, Cilan? I get if you're off today, but. Um. [He holds up a Pokéball.] I just got this outta the vending machine.

[cilantro]

[Oh]

Right, let's... come over here where there's some space for them.

[And also food nearby. Food is a great way to keep Pokemon stable, right.]

Do you want me to open it, or would you like to do the honors?

I don't know... Maybe you? You have more experience with them after all. I just don't know if it's one of yours, or Archie's, or...

[AZ.]

Mm, very well. With Sharpedo here, they'll be able to fill them in if it's one of Archie's, and my Pokemon can do their best to fill them in if it's one of mine or...

[...Yeah. So, let's go ahead and toss this poke ball into the air so that we can play the wonderful game of "Who's that Pokemon?"]

The sentient sludge lets out a low noise and looks around, confused. Sharpedo, meanwhile, floats over to him, rumbling.]

Wh-whoa-- he did say to watch for one of these... Uh. I guess it's...one of Archie's.

[Which, good that the guy isn't stuck in there anymore. Bad that he has to learn about Archie.]

[ Annnd he'll even swing on by!

He'll be giving a few of the Pokemon and Cilan (should he look over) a wave. ]

Hey, what's cooking? Smells pretty good.

[cilantro]

[Pansage will wave, but Cilan doesn't look up: he's chopping some carrots and tossing them into a pot sitting on the stove first before he'll respond.]

Giambotta Stew... would you like some once it's finished?

Yeah, sure.

[ ... He decides to bite the bullet for a second. ]

Hey, is everything...?

[ He trails off but the question should be easy to infer what he's asking. If the guy brushes him off, he'll just change the subject. But, he figures he should ask anyway. ]

... What happened this morning was a rather unfortunate taste, but I'm alright now. The only thing we can do is continue to do our best to move onward past this flavor of tragedy.

[His tone sounds normal and it has the return of his silly speech quirk, but it is notable that Cilan still hasn't actually looked up from what he's doing here to answer that.]

Yeah, you got it right.

[ He's certainly noticed it. ]

Pretty sure we'll find some way to overcome this mess sometime, right?

[ The smell of good food draws Inigo into the kitchen, and he pauses when he sees Pansage. ]

I see you got another one of your Pokémon back. Who's this little guy?

[ Pansage is cute. Much cuter than Crustle. ]

[Don't say that out loud in front of us, though.]

Mm, indeed! This is my dear vintage Pokemon, Pansage! And Pansage, this is Inigo!

[The Pokemon says something here in Pokemon speak that seems to be a greeting, as well as holding out a paw from where it's clinging to Cilan. Wanna shake hands with a grass monkey?]

Hello, Pansage.

[ He walks over to Cilan and Pansage and takes hold of its paw, giving it a shake. ]

He's cute.

Isn't he? [The sigh that Cilan gives now is a happy one--if it wasn't for the fact that he's in the middle of cooking, he would probably be hugging and spinning around cheerfully with it.] And I can happily say that he's one of the sweetest Pokemon you'll ever meet, too!

[Oh my gosh Cilan, stop, you'll embarrass Pansage by saying things like that--we're not cute, we're manly as hell!!]

[OH THANK GODS, CILAN IS EXACTLY WHERE SHE HOPED HE'D BE.

...probably stress cooking, the poor thing. She'd offer to help, but... she has pressing concerns.]

...heheheh. I almost thought you changed your hairstyle for a second there.

Hm? ... Oh yes, I should introduce you, shouldn't I?

[He turns his head to properly look at his Pokemon here now.]

This is my vintage Pokemon, Pansage! Pansage, this is Mozu!

[The Pokemon makes a happy noise in greeting here, waving a paw at her. Hi Mozu, it's nice to meet you!]

Oh, well, he's a little cutie! Hi there, Pansage!

[She waves cheerfully, and while he's... he's still weird, he's actually really cute, so.]

Gosh, there really are all kinds of Pokemon, aren't there? Well, I guess there's all kinds of animals, too, so it shouldn't be surprising.

[cilantro]

Indeed! After all, there's several hundred, perhaps even close to a thousand different types of Pokemon that live in my world! Regardless of what Pokemon you might meet, you're guaranteed to find one that has an interesting flavor that gives it a unique taste in comparison to all of the other Pokemon we share this world with!

[... Once again, like Stunfisk, Pansage seems to find Cilan's manner of speaking perfectly normal here.]
